Here in far west peninsula of Penwith is perhaps the highest concentration of ancient sites found in Western Europe. There are hundreds of sites densely packed into a setting much of which has changed little since the Bronze Age. sites of intrest include;

Lanyon Quoit - Chamber tomb, 

Men-An-Tol - Holed stone,

Chun Castle - Iron Age hill fort,

Trencrom Hill - Second century BC rampart,

Gurnard's Head - Cliff castle (marked as Trereen Dinas), and

Chysauster Settlement - Courtyard houses, a fougou and field system.

In addition there are historic fishing ports of Newlyn, Mousehole and St. Ives with historic mining sites around St. Just.
